What is the score of the Boston Red Sox vs. St. Louis Cardinals game? Check out all the updates and stats from Game 4 of the 2013 World Series as these two dynamic teams meet once again. The Cardinals came take a two-game, 3-1, lead in the series with a win, but the Red Sox are looking to tie things up. Here's a look at their batting lineups for this game as both managers will be looking to put their team in a favorable position.
It does not take much to noticed the changes John Farrell had to make in this game as he looks to resolve his team's defensive woes that have plagued them through the first two games of the series. The Red Sox have committed at least an error in every game so far in the World Series. The first one was easy to shrug off. The Cardinals had lost that game after the second inning as the Red Sox quickly took a 5-0 lead.
However, in the last two games, the Red Sox's defense has committed bogus errors as they cannot find the target at third base. As a result, here is what Farrell had to do.
Red Sox Starting Lineup:
1. Jacoby Ellsbury CF
2. Daniel Nava RF
3. Dustin Pedroia 2B
4. David Ortiz 1B
5. Jonny Gomes LF
6. Xander Bogaerts 3B
7. Stephen Drew SS
8. David Ross C
9. Clay Buchholz P
Remember, because this game is played at a National League park, the pitchers have to hit. There is no Shane Victorino and Jarrod Saltalamacchi in this lineup. David Ross is in for defense, while Nava gets the start. Also, Bogaerts gets bumped up in the lineup, though he's only sporting a .200 batting average in the World Series. Bogaerts has been clutch though.
St. Louis Cardinals Lineup:
1. Matt Carpenter 2B
2. Carlos Beltran RF
3. Matt Holliday LF
4. Matt Adams 1B
5. Yadier Molina C
6. Jon Jay CF
7. David Freese 3B
8. Daniel Descalso SS
9. Lance Lynn
Not much going on in St. Louis. The Cardinals will get the same guys out there and the Red Sox are in trouble because the middle of that lineup is heating up. Holliday, Adams and Moline have killed the ball as of late and they will get the chance to do the same in Game 4 as an inconsistent Buchholz takes the mound.
