Red Sox, Cardinals TV Schedule: Channel & New Time for World Series Game 5

Oct 28, 2013 03:08 PM EDT

It's the Boston Red Sox vs. St. Louis Cardinals one last time at Busch Stadium. Check out the schedule for Game 5 of the 2013 World Series as one team will head back to Boston with a 3-2 series lead on Wednesday.

The Red Sox won another game because of their clutch hitting. Jonny Gomes provided the pop and David Ortiz set the tone as he continues to demolish Cardinals pitching. Gomes' first hit of the series was a three-run bomb to left field, it came in the top of the sixth inning, but it prove to be the game-winner as the Red Sox pitchers only allowed one run after Clay Buchholz was removed from the game.

The Cardinals' bullpen, which had been so trustworthy in Game 3, has surrendered three earned runs in the last two games. Those guys a young though and deserve a lot of credit for taking St. Louis this far into the postseason this year. Of course, it begins with their starting pitching, but Lance Lynn lost his control in the middle of the game, which led to his removal. When Seth Maness came in, he could not get out of the inning, surrendering the home run to Gomes.

TV Schedule
Game Time: 7:30 p.m ET

Channel: FOX

The Red Sox might have the momentum, but the Cardinals have what it takes to win the next two ball games. Losing Game 2 in Boston was crucial for the Red Sox because now, instead of being up 3-1, the series is tied 2-2 and they might not have enough starting pitching depth to combat the Cardinals' two aces; Adam Wainwright and Michael Wacha.

Do not laugh at the mentioning of Wacha as an ace. When the Cardinals faced the Los Angeles Dodgers, it was Wacha who took a hold of that series, beating Clayton Kershaw twice. He gave the Cardinals a 2-0 lead in the series and then closed the doors on the Dodgers, getting St. Louis into the Fall Classic. Also, he is 4-0 in his first ever postseason with a 1.00 ERA.

Convinced that he is an ace?

The Red Sox do not look as deep. There is John Lackey, who pitched yesterday, Felix Doubront, who has pitched 4.2 innings in Games 3 and 4 and of course, there's Jake Peavy, who was scolded by the Cardinals in Game 3. John Farrell would have to come up with a master plan and organize his pitching like it was the All-Star Game. Hey, it would be a good time to practice for the 2014 All-Star Game next season, which he will manage.

Do not forget, 7:30 p.m. ET, tonight, as the Red Sox meet the Cardinals in Game 5 of the World Series.
