When Is The NFL Trade Deadline? Tuesday October 29 at 4 PM Trading Date Ends Before Week 9 Schedule

The NFL trade deadline is coming up next week and the date for the deadline is next Tuesday, October 29 at 4:00 pm ET and comes after the completion of Week 8 on the schedule after the Seattle Seahawks and the St. Louis Rams play on Monday night football on ESPN.

The deadline is the next significant key date on the NFL schedule, as the next big thing for the league is the London game coming up on Sunday in Week 8 at Wembley Stadium in England. The San Francisco 49ers are playing in London on Sunday against the winless Jacksonville Jaguars and it marks the second game this season that is across the Atlantic. The first game over in London was the Minnesota Vikings and the Pittsburgh Steelers and this marks the first year that the NFL will have multiple games across the pond and this is the first of a number of games that the Jaguars will play at Wembley.

The trade deadline in the NFL is nothing like the Major League Baseball trade deadline, which many consider the best and most exciting in sports because of the usual flurry of activity and often times the surprising big moves that are made. The NFL deadline was recently pushed back after owners and executives felt it was too early in the season, which is one reason for the lack of trades and they also felt it made more sense since injuries happen later in the season and the earlier date did not allow teams to improve much.

Some the players that are looking like the best candidates to move includes Maurice Jones-Drew, Darren McFadden, Hakeem Nicks, Josh Gordon and Kenny Britt. Jones-Drew and McFadden will be free agents and so will Nicks, while Gordon is being looked at as a prime target for teams like the 49ers and the Packers. Britt has had issues with the Titans and Nicks is in the final year of his deal and will cost quite a bit to keep and on top of that the Giants are 1-6 this season after defeating the Vikings on Monday night football.

The Browns have reportedly received a number of offers for Gordon and while they said they are not looking to actively deal him, they are listening to offers from teams. Adam Schefter of ESPN.com reports that the team has multiple offers on the table and that they are looking for more than a high pick and a player. Gordon is by far the best player left on the Browns and the team clearly is capable of trading, as they already dealt Trent Richardson. Gordon is a prime target after making 50 catches last season for 805 yards and he already has 27 receptions for 450 yards this season.
