Who Will Sing National Anthem in Game 6 of the World Series?

The Boston Red Sox are now incharge of giving the pregame festivities some flavor as World Series Game 6 will be played at Fenway Park. Who will they choose to sing the national anthem? The Star Spangled Banner will be performed by a very Irish bunch as the Red Sox look to ignite the crowd early on and wrap things up in Game 6.

Who Sings the National Anthem?
Dropkick Murphys

Bostonians are probably familiar with this band. I could only imagine the pubs going crazy once their song hits the jukebox. It happens all over the country anyways, but this is Boston and they are adding an Irish twist to this performance. In fact, the band already performed in a Game 6 and that was a success.

Superstitious much?

Dropkick Murphys performed in Game 6 against the Detroit Tigers in the ALCS. The Red Sox came from behind in that one and eventually advanced to the World Series.

For those who think Dropkick Murphys sounds more like a wrestler whose finisher is a bombastic dropkick, you are wrong. Dropkick Murphy is a punk rock band with some Irish flavor in their sound. They have been around since 1996 when they released their debut album, "Dropkick Murphy's Ducky Boys Split." They have remained relevant in Billboard charts for decades and they are even into the modern social media thing as they personally volunteered themselves to perform the anthem for tonight's game.

So ladies and gentleman, that is how it's done. That is why Twitter is there in the first place, you use it to get your name out there stating you want to perform the national anthem. It only makes sense. The crowd went nuts when they went into the folkloric rhythms which only led to "I'm Shipping Up to Boston" and resulted in a large roar from the crowd.

Still does not sound familiar. Okay, here is the video.

Now does it ring a bell? It is one of those songs you know, but you might have no idea who sings.

Though Jonathan Papelbon is no longer in the team, this is what the Red Sox want to do on tonight's field and chances are Dropkick Murphys will blare out of the Fenway Park speakers.
