The Lakers are once again attracting national attention. However, it may be that the NBA did not see the Lakers being the team they were yesterday. The Warriors are a team to follow in 2013 after their playoff run in May. The Lakers are digressing as they possess no true star that is expected to take them to the playoffs.
Okay, if you read that last sentence and got upset, we can't blame you. A bunch of you probably asked yourself "Did thiis guy watch yesterday's game? Who is this chump?"
Right.
The Lakers relied on guys like Xavier Henry (22 points), Jordan Farmar (16 pts), Nick Young (13 points) and Jordan Hill provided the energy grabbing seven offensive rebounds scoring 12 points in his 18 minutes of action. The Lakers are without Kobe Bryant, but they did not even need their starters in the fourth quarter as their bench scored 41 points in the final 12 minutes of the ball game.
The Warriors are a different team than the Los Angeles Clippers, who were shocked by the Lakers last night. The Warriors will play defense and they will knock down shots. They have David Lee, Stephen Curry, Harrison Barnes, Andre Iguodala and Klay Thompson. They are a tough team and they will surely make enough noise in the playoffs.
The Warriors gave the San Antonio Spurs a run for their money in the 2013 playoffs, truly possessing and deserving a chance to advance further in the playoffs. However, they could not close out the deal and wound up getting eliminated by the veteran Spurs team. The Warriors are now hungry and capable of making a deeper run in the 2013-2014 postseason.
