The Seattle Seahawks have been one of the best teams in the NFL this season with a 7-1 record after winning against the St. Louis Rams on Monday night football, but with Sidney Rice now out for the season and the team looking shaky on the road, are they in trouble moving forward as the schedule gets tougher?
The team is supposed to get back Percy Harvin soon and now his return is even more imperative, as Rise will be out for the season, taking away a prime target for Russell Wilson. Golden Tate and Doug Baldwin will have to step up even more now and having Harvin back should be a nice boost for the offense as well. Rice had not been as productive this season while dealing with injures, but he at least could make it on the field and now that won't even be happening, as ESPN.com is reporting that he is done for the season with a torn ACL.
Wilson has been having a solid season with 1,628 yards and 13 touchdowns, but now they have to find a way to move on without one of their top offensive players. Rice has dealt with injuries over his career and while he had 35 targets this season, he had 15 catches for 231 yards and he did not have a catch on MNF and that is how he ends his season. In 2012 he had a solid year with 50 catches and nearly 750 yards, but now things could get tougher down the stretch, as the Seahawks play against the Saints, 49ers and Giants after their bye week.
Wilson has some talent in Golden Tate and Doug Baldwin, but he needs more than that and Tate is tops on the team with over 400 yards and 32 catches and three touchdowns, while Baldwin is right behind with 372 yards this season. Adding Harvin will greatly change the dynamic of the offense and could mean a big end of the season for the Seahawks. Seattle faces off against Tampa and Atlanta before playing the Vikings and then they head into a much needed bye week before hosting MNF against the Saints.
