Red Sox fans are getting used to this. Well, Boston is getting used to this. This will be the eighth time the city prepares itself for a championship parade. This will be the third time since 2004 that the Red Sox fans get ready to party on the streets of their city as their baseball team has proven successful in the past decade.
This is something shocking for many who believed the Red Sox were cursed. Now, Boston gets ready to parade around the city and celebrate their champions.
The parade will start at Fenway Park and the procession will go down Boylston St. It will then go around the park and then the Duck caravan will launch itself into the water for a final lap before docking by the Science Park. Boylston St. is where the finish line of the Boston Marathon is located and this will definitely be a special moment for the city as "Boston Strong" was its rally cry following the devastating incident that took place at the beginning of the baseball season.
The Red Sox battled back from a 1-2 deficit to win this World Series over the St. Louis Cardinals. Prior to their Game 2 loss, the Red Sox had won nine straight Fall Classic meetings, sweeping the series in 2004 against these very Cardinals and then sweeping the Colorado Rockies in 2007. It was the first time the city of Boston had a chance to witness the clinching moment live as the Red Sox last won a World Series at Fenway in 1918. (When the "curse" began).
Citizens of Boston please be advised, traffic will be hectic as streets will close beginning at 9 a.m. ET and vehicles will not be allowed until 1 p.m. ET. Leave your homes early for work as the afternoon in Boston will be miserable for those not celebrating along with the Red Sox and their fans.
