New York City Marathon Live Stream 2013: NYC Race Results Has Geoffrey Mutai Winner From Kenya Watch Online ESPN ABC Streaming Sunday

Nov 03, 2013 09:20 AM EST

The NYC Marathon for 2013 is finally here on November 3 and Sunday at 9:00 am the television coverage of the race will start up on ESPN2 and locally on ABC and the New York City Marathon will start up at 9:40 with the race and over 40,000 runners are expected to participate after Hurricane Sandy postponed things last year and the race had Geoffrey Mutai Winner From Kenya as the winner.

The race will start in Staten Island and then will venture into Brooklyn before making its way into Queens and then the race moves into Manhattan and up into the Bronx before returning to the island. The race finishes in Central Park and the 26.2 mile event is expected to be very tightly monitored by police and security after the Boston Marathon bombing earlier this year. This is one of the first of a couple big events being hosted in the city, as the Super Bowl will also be in New York City this season. The Verrazano Bridge is where things get started on Staten Island and that leads through the other two boroughs before crossing the water on the Queensboro Bridge and ESPN will be broadcasting the event nationally for the first time in years. Last year the Hurricane Sandy put the event on hold for the first time since it started up in 1970 and now this will be the first chance for runners to do it in NYC.

Check here for the ESPN coverage of the New York City Marathon.

The race last year was cancelled the Friday before the event and the storm devastated some of the communities where the marathon would have went through and many called for its cancellation due to the severe destruction from the Hurricane. After dealing with that situation, weather is less of a factor than security, which has been ramped up due to the marathon and that means a big police presence will be out and about all day and there will be screenings of all 40,000 plus runners for the race. Bags will be screened and there will be undercover policemen and other surveillance for the event after what happened in Boston.

The marathon coverage could start early for any major fans out there, as ABC has coverage starting at 9 am locally and ESPN2 will air it nationally and there will be pre-event shows and coverage as well on the ABC website and on ABC. The event will stream on WatchESPN and on the ABC website and the 26.2 mile race will finish up coverage around 12 noon. The event is greatly anticipated after it was cancelled last year and the ESPN coverage will be anchored by John Anderson and Hannah Storm and it will be presented in HD on ESPN and the network is treating it as a big event, putting a number of reporters on the race and they also have been doing features on television and online all week.

The race starts up at 9 am from the Verrazano Bridge in Staten Island will go through all the five boroughs of New York City from Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Manhattan and it will finish up in Central Park, where security is sure to be crazy after the Boston Marathon.
