Barcelona ended Pep Guardiola's remarkable reign with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao in the King's Cup final on Friday.
Two goals from Pedro and one from Lionel Messi was enough to hand Guardiola his 14th trophy in a four-year spell as Barca manager.
"I feel like I left some good things behind," Guardiola said after the match. "Now I will rest and try a new challenge in the future.
"We had a good year. We won four titles, and winning this Cup gives them better value. I'm happy to close out the season this way."
Barcelona have had a less-than successful campaign this year by their high standards, losing their Spanish League title to Real Madrid and crashing out in the semifinals of the Champions League to Chelsea. Guardiola, however, said his side had progressed.
"Football-wise, this has been the best season. We introduced new concepts and next season we will be even better."
Asked if his side was the greatest club team ever, Guardiola said: "It would be pretentious to call us that. Those are big words."
Messi scored his 73rd goal of the season to cap a record-breaking campaign for the Argentine and Guardiola hailed Messi as the best player he had ever seen. "It has been an honor to be the coach of the best player I have ever seen and probably the best I will see.
"Messi taught me to be even more competitive. We would have won trophies without him, but not 14."
