Rooney will have to be at his best on Tuesday and it should be a tough matchup on both sides and the winner will get the chance to stay up in Group A and the match will be streaming on Fox Soccer 2 Go. Manchester United manager David Moyes has the perfect troubleshooting guide with him if Tuesday's encounter at Real Sociedad is not going to plan, having packed Alex Ferguson's autobiography in his suitcase.

United defenders Jonny Evans and Rafael will miss Tuesday's Champions League match at Real Sociedad due to injury, manager David Moyes said on the eve of the Group A game.

Northern Irishman Evans suffered a back problem during Saturday's 3-1 win at Fulham in the Premier League, while Brazilian Rafael hurt his ankle also in the first half. Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney and manager David Moyes believes the attacking pair are starting to move into top gear.

The Dutchman and the Englishman scored in Saturday's 3-1 victory at Fulham as the champions put a slow start to their domestic campaign behind them and gave themselves a lift before Tuesday's Champions League Group A clash at Real Sociedad.

It was the fourth time that they have netted in the same game under Moyes, who is in his first season in charge after taking over from decorated Scottish compatriot Alex Ferguson, and Van Persie now has six for the season in the Premier League, with Rooney on five.

"I thought there were real signs of great combination between them and they made the goals for each other," Moyes said at a news conference.

There was better news for midfielder Tom Cleverley, who came off at halftime at the weekend with double vision, because he has recovered in time for the match at the Anoeta stadium. When his retired predecessor's book came out last month, Moyes said he was too busy to read it but that seems to have changed after British media published photographs of it in the bag he took on Monday's flight to Spain.

In fact, it would come as little surprise if he had been studying the pages intently as his team have won all four matches since it hit the shelves having previously made a stuttering start to the season.

United are top of Champions League Group A with seven points from three games before facing Sociedad, who are bottom with no points.
