The Aaron Hernandez case has taken the back burner a bit as the court works out procedural issues and hearings and on Wednesday another step will go down, as Hernandez's girlfriend and fiancé Shayanna Jenkins will be appearing in court.
According to SI.com, Jenkins will be in court regarding the perjury charges she pleaded not guilty to last month and her lawyers argue the accusations are baseless. The report says that she will be in Fall River Superior Court on Wednesday and she has been out on her own recognizance after being charged and pleading not guilty in court. Jenkins, along with a number of other family members and associates have been in and out of court over the past month, including cousin Tanya Singleton and accomplices Carlos Ortiz and Ernest Wallace.
According to reports, Jenkins is being accused of lying about possibly disposing of evidence. Jenkins said that she did not remember where she threw out a box that may have contained evidence to a grand jury and lawyers have said she lied. Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to his charges of first degree murder and now Jenkins will be back in court.
The case likely will not go to trial until next year.
