The Brooklyn Nets' season has been hot and cold so far this year. The team beat the Miami Heat but then followed that up with a tough loss to the Orlando Magic in Jason Kidd's coaching debut. The team shot just 38.2 percent overall. After a heated talk from Kevin Garnett, the team beat the Utah Jass and will now look to exploit an improved Washington Wizards roster.
The last time the Nets starter 0-3 on the road was 2009, but after losing to Cleveland and Orlando on the road, they face that on Friday in Washington. The team bounced back well against the Jazz as Brook Lopez put up 27 points overall as the Nets won 104-88. Overall the Nets looked like a much improved team against the Jazz, earning praise from Kidd who was making his debut at home.
Brooklyn will go up against one of the worst defenses in the league. Washington is giving up 52.0 points in the paint per game as they sit 1-3 on the season. However, the silver lining in the team's struggles is John Wall who appears to be the only person on the team making shots. He hit a career-best five 3-point shots against the Philadelphia 76ers while totally up 24 points.
Earning a contract extension, Wall is looking like a much improved player for the Wizards this season. Last year he was a mere 25.8 percent 3-point shooter, but is knocking them down this year. That could come in handy against Brooklyn who is letting opponents shoot 41.3 percent from beyond the arc. The Wizards must also work to eliminate turnovers if they are going to get past the big Nets. Washington is averaging 18.7 turnovers per game.
