The Super Bowl is still months away, but some clear cut favorites are emerging for the game that will be played in the cold at MetLife Stadium, as the Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos and New Orleans Saints are all looking like solid bets, with the Hawks coming in with a 9-1 record on the season and looking like the favorites in the NFC.
The Seahawks have been dealing with a number of injuries, but they have been able to overcome them and even with Sidney Rice out for the rest of the season, the team will be getting back Percy Harvin and come playoff time that could be very valuable. The team has a nice lead in the division over the San Francisco 49ers after they lost to the Carolina Panthers and now they are 9-1 in the NFC West with a 5-1 road record and they are undefeated at home, in the conference and within their own division as well. The team has been playing well on offense and defense and while they have a tough schedule ahead, they could be in line to get home field advantage in the playoffs and that would be crucial, as they play much better at CenturyLink Field than they do on the road, although they have only lost once away this season to Indy.
The team will have some stiff competition in the NFC, including from the 49ers as well as the Detroit Lions and the New Orleans Saints, while the Carolina Panthers are another team that could make some noise going down the stretch. In the AFC there is a deep stack of teams that could make a Super Bowl run, including the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs as well as the New England Patriots, but the Seahawks are mainly concerned about their own conference.
The Seahawks have had some very impressive wins this season and if they can secure home field advantage over the Saints, which could be exactly what they need to make a deep run. The Hawks are coming off of a nice road win against the Atlanta Falcons before playing the Vikings and the team comes in having won five games in a row and that came after the team went 4-1 to start the season, including going 4-0 for the first time in franchise history.
The team has a tough back stretch after their bye week, as the team hosts the New Orleans Saints at home on Monday night football and then hits the road for two straight games, playing the San Francisco 49ers in a divisional matchup before playing the New York Giants on the east coast. The team then finishes with two more divisional games and they will be at home against the Arizona Cardinals and the St. Louis Rams.
