Nov 15, 2013 08:53 PM EST

The Brooklyn Nets are coming into the season with championship expectations after bringing over Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce and with the team off to a slow start, they will play on Friday night against a surprising Phoenix Suns team that has started off with five wins in eight games and they are playing at the US Airways Center for a game starting up at 9:00 PM.

The Nets are coming in after a loss on the road against the Sacramento Kings and that game was a bad one by 21 points and now they will continue their western conference swing with a game against a team that has been one of the most surprising in the NBA, as they were one of the bottom feeders last year and now they have gotten off to a nice start. The Nets lost the game against the Kings despite 16 points from Brook Lopez, while Pierce led the team in rebounds with nine and Deron Williams had seven assists on the night in the defeat. The team next plays the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center at 10:30 on Saturday and that should be an interesting game, as the new stars in Garnett and Pierce will matchup against their old coach with Doc Rivers.

The Nets are coming into the game averaging 95 points per contest and they are ranked 20th in the league in scoring and also in points allowed, as they are allowing over 101 points per game and now it should be an entertaining game against the Suns. The team is ranked 16th in both rebounds and assists per game and they are playing against the Suns, who are coming off of a one point loss against the Portland Trail Blazers and after playing against the Nets the team will play against the Sacramento Kings at Sleep Train Arena on Tuesday and now they are playing after getting 23 points from Eric Bledsoe and 10 rebounds from Mason Plumlee and Bledsoe also added six assists.

The Suns are ranked 17th in scoring this season with nearly 100 points per game and the team is playing some very solid defense, averaging 95 points per contest to rank fifth in the league. The two teams are playing at the US Airways Center on Friday night at 9 pm with the Suns hosting the Brooklyn Nets.
