It will be a battle of AFC East teams as the Jets will look to improve on their 4-1 record against their own division. The Jets are 2-1 against the division, but 1-3 on the road. They continue to look for consistency in their quarterback, Geno Smith as their defense always keeps them close in games.
Adding a new piece to their defense, the Jets brought in veteran Ed Reed. He should surely fire up the team as New York has a young secondary.
For the first time in 2013, the Jets could win back-to-back games. So far, the pattern has been win, loss, win, loss, with their last victory coming over the New Orleans Saints before going on their Bye. They defeated the Saints and they have defeated the New England Patriots. However, when the Jets play the easier teams on their schedules, they have not found a way to lock things up.
Here is a chance for New York to place itself in the talks of top Wild Card contenders. As is, the AFC West looks to have their top two teams in the playoffs, but the AFC North and South do not possess dominant second place teams. Currently, the Jets would be that sixth team in the playoffs if the season ended today.
