The fantasy football week is getting ready to begin on Thursday night with the New Orleans Saints and the Atlanta Falcons and heading into that game, Harry Douglas is the top wide receiver option to start this week on the schedule along with names like Keenan Allen, Rod Streater and Nate Burleson.
Douglas has been one of the best receivers in the league over the past month, as he has had to step up for the Falcons with Julio Jones out for the season and Roddy White banged up with injuries. Douglas has been the most productive and consistent receiver for the team and he has been the best target for Matt Ryan with all the injuries and has been solid despite the teams losing the past four games. Douglas comes in after making six catches for 134 yards and a touchdown in the loss to the Buccaneers last weekend and he has been putting up career best numbers in the offense this season.
Douglas already has 51 catches for 754 yards on 75 targets with two touchdowns and has been averaging nearly 15 yards per catch and heading into the back stretch of the season he will be the best wideout option for the Falcons. Douglas has scored twice in the past five weeks and he also is leading the league in yards after the catch since Jones went down, including his 80-yard snag on Sunday against the Bucs. Douglas is already on pace for over 80 catches and 1,200 yards and he has been over 120 yards in three of the past five games and he also has had double digit targets in two of the past five games.
Douglas had 18 targets and 12 catches against the Cardinals a few weeks ago and had 121 yards and in the game before that he had seven catches on as many targets for 149 yards and his first TD of the season. In the previous two games before the Tampa Bay game the second time he had seven catches for 49 yards against the Seahawks and three for 82 yards against the Panthers and he should continue being the best big play receiver for the team.
Keenan Allen has been excellent for the Chargers this season with 41 catches for 613 yards and he has stepped up big as a rookie with two main starters out with injuries. Allen had over 100 yards in two of his past five games and he is coming off of a three catch game against the Dolphins and a few weeks ago he had a huge game with eight catches for 128 yards and one touchdown. Streater has been coming on the past few weeks and with Matt McGloin starting and playing with him well last week, that could mean more production. Last week with McGloin he had his first TD in weeks and also had six catches for 84 yards on eight targets and he should continue getting looks in the offense.
