The Dallas Cowboys are heading into Thursday's Thanksgiving Day game in Week 13 after a big win over the New York Giants and now they are looking for their second win in a handful of days as they welcomes the Oakland Raiders to AT&T Stadium for a game that will start up on TV at 4:30 pm on CBS and the game marks the holiday tradition of football going down on Turkey Day.
Tony Romo has been playing very well this season and the games against the Raiders offers a very good matchup for the Cowboys offense, as the team is giving up a decent amount of yards per game and that could mean a big game for Romo. The Cowboys are in control of the NFC East, as they are undefeated in division play this season and they still have the final game of the year at home against the Philadelphia Eagles and that is who they are tied with for the lead right now. The Cowboys have had disappointing finishes the past two seasons when it comes to the NFC East and Week 17, as they lost to both the New York Giants and the Washington Redskins for the title in each of the past two seasons and now they will have the game at home and it could be what pushes them back into the playoffs finally.
The Cowboys game is the CBS matchup on Thanksgiving and the other games are the Green Bay Packers taking on the Detroit Lions and the Baltimore Ravens playing the Pittsburgh Steelers in the night game on NBC. The Cowboys come in after a last minute win against the New York Giants and that game was at MetLife Stadium and came at a time the Giants could not afford to lose, as they started 0-6 and then won four games in a row, but now their playoff hopes are going to take a big hit and they will need the Cowboys to drop a couple games down the stretch and they likely need to win out to get back into things. The Giants are now likely out of it, but they can play spoiler down the stretch and so can the Redskins and Dallas comes in ranking 12th in passing yards per game with nearly 250 yards and the defense has not been very good, giving up nearly 300 yards per contest, while they are ranked 30th in rushing yards allowed per game.
The Cowboys have a tough upcoming schedule with the Chicago Bears next on Monday night football and after that the team has three more games, two at home, with the Green Bay Packers next before the Washington Redskins and then the team ends the season in Dallas against the Philadelphia Eagles and could be what decides the division. The team has a tough MNF matchup and heading into this game the team has won two of three games and earlier in the season they had a two game winning streak and they have been streaky all year and now they need to show that they can close.
The turkey day Thanksgiving matchup against the Oakland Raiders is the second game of the day and starts up at 4:30 pm on CBS against the Oakland Raiders in Texas.
