Kansas and Wake Forest are both undefeated and thriving at the start of their respective seasons. While Wake Forest is flying under the radar, Kansas has a roster stacked with future NBA talent that is ready to preform big on a national stage.
Attention has shifted away from the Kansas wins and towards the play of potential No. 1 overall draft pick, Andrew Wiggins. The top recruit is expected to exit after his freshman season and be the first player taken in the 2014 NBA Draft. Wiggins is leading the undefeated Jayhawks on a roster that includes heavy talent like Joel Embiid, Perry Ellis and Wayne Selden.
Kansas is coming off a big win, but prior to that they struggled against then No. 4 Duke. The Bluedevils show more than 50 percent in that matchup despite Kansas getting the win. Their defense has stepped up since then holding Iona to just 32.1 percent shooting and Towson played even worse, shooting just 20.7 percent.
The Demon Deacons will not go down without a fight. Wake Forest is averaging 85.6 points per game this season. The 5-0 start has the team putting up their best season since they opened 16-0 back in 2008. Wake Forest will be led by sophomore Codi Miller-McIntyre who is putting up 18.6 points per game. Guard Coron Williams follows behind him, as an excellent 3-point shooter.
The Kansas defense could se some struggles as officials are going to start cracking down on the hand-checking defense that has made the Jayhawks so tough. Head coach Bill Seld is prepared for the fouls, but notes that he would rather players be allowed to get in each other's faces during games.
