The Seattle Seahawks and the New Orleans Saints are playing on Monday night football in Week 13 of the season and the matchup has the two best teams in the NFC going at it and it could have big playoff implications and the matchups starts up at 8:30 pm on ESPN and the game will be live from CenturyLink Field in Washington and streaming from WatchESPN.
The game will likely decide who has the number one seed in the conference for the postseason, as the Seahawks are currently in line for it at 10-1 and the Saints are right there at 9-2. New Orleans needs this win badly, as they play much better at home in the Superdome and they still have memories of travelling up to Seattle back in 2010 when Marshawn Lynch had his coming out party. The Seahawks are much better on both sides of the ball now and they have Percy Harvin in the mix as well, even though he is banged up coming into the game. The Saints and the Seahawks are two of the most productive teams in the NFL this season and the game on Monday night could end up a shootout.
Drew Brees and Jimmy Graham have once again put up video game numbers this season and the Saints have plenty of weapons to choose from on Monday in their offense. The Seahawks secondary will be thin without Brandon Browner and Walter Thurmond in the mix and that could mean some big plays from Drew Brees, as Richard Sherman is the lone top corner for the Hawks. The defense is ranked first against the pass and the Saints are first in passing offense in yards per game, so something will have to give on either side for Monday's game.
The Saints are in good playoff position, but their status as NFC South leaders is not a lock, as the Carolina Panthers are the hottest team in football and they have two matchups looming with the Saints. The Panthers could jump ahead of the Saints in the standings after their huge winning streak continued on Sunday and that makes this game even more important for New Orleans. Marshawn Lynch will be the main focus for both sides, as he has nearly 930 yards this season and nine touchdowns and he is also averaging over four yards per carry on top of that. Doug Baldwin and Golden Tate have been solid for Russell Wilson and they will have to continue that on Monday night against the high powered Saints.
The Seahawks will have their hands full with Brees on Monday night and Lynch will be a ton to handle as well. The New Orleans Saints visit CenturyLink Field on Monday night football on ESPN in Week 13 of the season to take on the 10-1 Seattle Seahawks at 8:30 pm ET.
