The college football season is coming to a close and that means rivalry time and conference championship games and on Thursday night the Louisville Cardinals and the Cincinnati Bearcats will meet for the Keg of Nails game in the American Athletic Conference and a BCS berth could possibly be on the line when the game kicks off at 7:30 pm from Nippert Stadium and streams live online from the WatchESPN website.
Louisville comes into the game after a win over Memphis, but they don't have a chance to get into the BCS after losing to UCF, who is currently the leaders in the American Athletic Conference and after previously beating the Cardinals, the Bearcats only hope is to win on Thursday and look for the Knights to lose on Saturday when they play against SMU. Louisville has one of the best players in the country in Teddy Bridgewater and after previously making it into a big game, the team will play one of its biggest rivals for possibly the last time as the Cardinals will be moving to the ACC and that takes these two teams away from each other on the schedule. Louisville comes into the game 10-1 and the Bearcats are 6-2 and they can get into a bowl game if they win, UCF loses and Cincy finishes ahead of one of the unbeaten non-AQ teams in the BCS standings next week.

The Cardinals will be looking to end the season on a high note and their only loss of the year is against UCF and the team wishes they could have that one back, as their star quarterback in Teddy Bridgewater will be gone and coach Charlie Strong could end up getting poached by another school in the offseason. The two teams have played each other many times since back in 1929 and now the series could end for the foreseeable future for the two schools. The Bearcats did not match up against UCF and they are coming into the game after a win over Houston and the main focus for the defense will be Bridgewater, who has put up some great numbers and he is coming into the game after passing for 400 yards in the matchup last season and he also had two touchdowns.
The Cardinals are the favorites in the game and they have been stunted offensively a bit, averaging under 350 yards over the past three games and now Bridgewater likely is playing in his final game for the team. The Bearcats are a tough team to beat at home, as they have lost only two matchups there in the past 18 and the team now has the chance to pull another upset as they try to make it into the BCS. The team has put up some great numbers over the past two games and quarterback Brandon Kay has had seven total touchdowns and he will be the main focus for the Cardinals D.
Louisville comes into the game ranked third in points against this season with 11 per game and they are scoring over 30 while averaging over 300 passing yards. The Bearcats come in with the 10th ranked defense as 18 points allowed and they are scoring just under 35 points per game and tossing for 314 passing yards per contest, making this game a solid matchup for both Louisville and Cincinnati in the American Athletic Conference.
