The college football playoffs aren't coming to division 1-A until next season, but they are still going strong for FCS teams and this year North Dakota State once again comes in as one of the best teams and they are undefeated as a top seed and they are playing against Furman in the second round of the playoffs for division 1-aa and they got a first round bye and the game starts up at 3:30 pm and will be streaming from the WatchESPN website on ESPN3.
The team comes in after finishing their season with a win over the South Dakota Coyotes and they won that game easily with a 42-0 score and they now are 11-0 and 8-0 in their conference in the MVC as they take on Furman, who is 8-5 and 6-2 in the Southern and the Bison come in as the heavy favorites. The team played and won the opening week against Kansas State on the road and that win over the Wildcats was a huge upset and now the team comes into the game after staying undefeated all season and they will try and win another championship as one of the best teams in the FCS. The team comes in after big wins over Youngstown State, SD, Illinois State and Indiana State and the team also defeated Delaware State and Missouri State this season.
North Dakota State was one of a number of teams to get into the second round on a bye, as the top four seeds got a pass with Eastern Illinois, Eastern Washington and Southeastern Louisiana and Montana and Maine as well as McNeese State and Towson were the other teams to get byes and they come in for a home game on Saturday in the second round. The team now plays Furman after they won over South Carolina State in Fargo and the team is the favorite there. On the other side, Sam Houston State, who has been beaten by the Bison the past two seasons in the finals, plays against Southern Utah and the finals eventually will be on January 4 for the championship game in Texas.
