The Fresno State Bulldogs were looking like BCS busters this season with an undefeated record, but the team lost last weekend to the San Jose State Spartans to knock them off and now they will try for the Mountain West Conference championship on Saturday night against Utah State and the matchup will be on CBS starting up at 10 PM.
The Bulldogs come into the game as the best passing team in the nation and they have one of the strongest offenses with over 500 total yards per game and it's closer to 600 with the average of 410 passing yards per game and the main reason is due to quarterback Derek Carr, who has been putting up great numbers this season. Last week he was outgunned by David Fales and now Fresno State comes in ranked 23rd in the nation and they are 10-1 on the season and 7-1 in the conference and that is their lone blemish on their record this season and they will try and make their bowl resume better as champions of the conference. The team is averaging nearly 50 points per game and they are allowing 30 per contest and now they have the chance to get to 11 wins on the season and after some close games this season, they have one more game to go for Carr, who will try to air it out once again.

The game is at Bulldog Stadium and they are the West division champions and while Carr was fantastic last week with six touchdown passes and over 500 yards, it was the passes he missed that were the difference and now they will try and tie the school record for wins in a season on Saturday night. The team is very tough to beat at home and they will try and continue their home winning streak and extend it to 13 games with a win and they haven't had a back to back losing streak in quite some time and Carr will need to play a solid game to get it done.
Utah State comes in after a big win against Wyoming and the team has one of the best defenses in the nation, ranked seventh in points against and that should be a great matchup, as they are allowing just 16 points per game and the team comes in after winning their past five games. The team had a stretch of losing three of four before bouncing back, but now that the Bulldogs lost a game and so did Northern Illinois, now those teams will not be getting into the BCS, but Fresno State and Carr would love to get a win at the end of the season as they try and take the Mountain West Conference title on Saturday night.
