The BCS Selection show on Sunday night will reveal the top matchups for the college football postseason, but most of those games are already predicted, as Florida State and Auburn will be the top two teams in the nation for the national championship game, while the Orange Bowl is expected to have the Ohio State Buckeyes after they lost the Big Ten championship game.
The Buckeyes were ranked number two and were undefeated on the season before playing against the Michigan State Spartans and their loss knocks them out of the VIZIO BCS National Championship game and opens the door for the Auburn Tigers, who won the SEC after defeating Missouri. Auburn has made an amazing rise in the rankings and the team must be feeling amazing after being nearly eliminated from everything against Georgia before getting a miracle pass for a touchdown and now they are going to play for the national championship just one year after not winning a single conference game.
Alabama is now out of things with the national championship game, but they should get a very nice bowl game with Auburn going to the title matchup and ESPN.com reports that they will be in the Sugar Bowl against Oklahoma after they won over Oklahoma State to give Baylor the Big 12 conference title. Bama goes in over Missouri, who lost the SEC title game and Baylor is expected to play against UCF in the Fiesta Bowl and that leaves the Rose Bowl, which is set to have the Michigan State Spartans and the Stanford Cardinal after those schools won the Big Ten and Pac-12 titles. This will be the final time that the BCS will determine the national championship game and this season one could argue that the system worked, but either way, the final matchup between Florida State and Auburn should be a very good one on both sides with Jameis Winston and Nick Marshall matching up at quarterback.
Michigan State hasn't been to the Rose Bowl in decades and they are the reason why Ohio State is out of things and Auburn is in the national championship, as the Spartans were able to defeat the Tigers. The Seminoles easily beat Duke in the ACC championship and now they will play the national title game in 2014 in Pasadena. Oklahoma is expected to make a BCS appearance and Clemson should be in a good spot and with Missouri losing to Auburn, the Tigers give the SEC the chance to win their eighth straight national championship after Alabama won last season.
