Dec 12, 2013 11:13 AM EST

The Aaron Hernandez case has mostly been out of the news apart from TMZ reporting abut letters the former Patriots TE has been writing, but just because he is out of the news for the most part doesn't people surrounding the case are and reports came out that Dolphins lineman Mike Pouncey missed practice to testify in the murder case of Odin Lloyd about possible gun trafficking.

The news was reported by Yahoo Sports and comes after Pouncey was served following a Patriots game for the Dolphins in Massachusetts and stories came out weeks ago that Pouncey may have been involved or knew about gun trafficking and other illegal activities. Hernandez is facing life in prison on first degree murder charges and this also comes after Pouncey was spotted earlier in the year wearing a "free Hernandez" shirt with his brother. Police are looking into all angles of the Hernandez case and while it is not known whether Pouncey is considered a witness or a suspect, but that could come out later.

The Dolphins have a game at home against the Patriots this weekend and now Pouncey is involved in the case for Hernandez. The two players were teammates at the University of Florida and now that could come back into play as Pouncey and Hernandez may have been linked to certain situations since back in school.
