The New York Knicks are simply hoping to not have a repeat performance against the Boston Celtics. The last time the two teams met up, the Celtics blew the Knicks out of Madison Square Garden. It was the most lopsided game of the past weekend as Boston defeated New York 114-73. Now the Knicks are looking for a little revenge.

During the first matchup, Boston shot 54.2 percent from the field. Two players scored over 20 points. They scored the first 12 points of the game and kept the momentum going from there. For a team that is supposed to be tanking the season, they did an excellent job holding the Knicks starters to just 29 total points. Carmelo Anthony said the loss was nothing short of embarrassing.

The Knicks are now 6-15 on the season after finally breaking a nine-game losing streak. They are coming off a win against the Chicago Bulls and a win against the Celtics would be just their second back-to-back win of the season. Right now, they are shooting just an average of 93.8 points per game, the lowest in the league.

The Knicks appeared to be taking a step forward prior to the loss against Boston. They had defeated the Brooklyn Nets in convincing fashion, but the loss to the Celtics was a step backwards according to head coach Mike Woodson. Since defeating New York, Boston has dropped two straight games, something the Knicks can take advantage of.

If the New York is going to get the win, they will do so without Raymond Felton. Averaging 10.3 points per game and 5.2 assists, Felton has been shut down due to a hamstring injury. Iman Shumpert is also day-to-day with a knee bruise. The Celtics might be without center Kelly Olynyk after missing the past 10 games which could help Boston in size.
