The UEFA champions League draw came out on Monday and the results are in for the schedule and now the round of 16 has a number of huge matchups, with Manchester city playing against Barcelona, while Arsenal and Bayern Munich will match up along with teams like Real Madrid, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.
The draw was released on Monday and the schedule will pick up in February after a very tough group stage and now there are 16 teams left and some of the matchups are very tough, as Manchester City has a tough draw, as do the Gunners, as they play against the defending champions in Bayern. Some of the other matchup's includes Manchester United and Olympiakos, as well as AC Milan taking on Atletico Madrid and Chelsea taking on Galatasaray. The matches come in February on the 18th and 19th and then the 25th and 26th, while the second legs will be later in March before the quarters, semis and finals in May.
There are plenty of interesting matchups coming up and some teams got better draws than others and in the 1012-13 season Arsenal also played against Bayern Munich with a 3-1 match to start before a 2-0 performance in the second leg and the Gunners came into the draw as the Premier League leaders and by February they would be playing very well. Galatasaray defeated Juventus to get into the draw and they will play against Chelsea and one of the most interesting teams to watch will be Barcelona and Manchester United also has an interesting path as they move along into the next round and the Arsenal and Bayern matchup is one to follow closely.
Schalke has a very tough matchup with Real Madrid, while Borussia Dortmund plays Zenit St. Petersburg and the first legs will have the runners up hosting first before the return legs in March. Bayern will have to win against Arsenal again after the Gunners finished second in their group and they will be ready for a challenge, while man City comes in with some momentum even though they have a tough match, as they were able to beat Bayern to get through and that makes a very interesting matchup against Barcelona, who should have Lionel Messi back by then.
