The Brooklyn Nets are trying to gain some momentum on their season. After a disastrous start to the year, the team is slowly starting to figure out a system. Health is improving in the starting lineup and the bench and a win against the Philadelphia 76ers could help get Brooklyn even more on track.
The return of Deron Williams was the first comeback for Brooklyn. Then Paul Pierce started to get healthy again and a move to the bench appears to be helping. Now, Brook Lopez is expected to return to the lineup which will be a big upgrade to the team. The Nets have won three in a row prior to their Friday loss to Detroit. That was the first twin streak the team has put together on the entire season. That is offering up plenty of hope for the team.
Getting Lopez back into the lineup will give Brooklyn some much needed size against the 76ers. The team struggled facing Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe with the Pistons. Having the center who is averaging 20.5 points per game can help. Brooklyn allowed 21 second-chance points to teams to the duo, so getting Lopez back with his rebounding skills will make a difference. Reggie Evans did his best to fill in for the center, but he created three turnovers in 11 minutes, getting sent back to the bench.
The 76ers have lost six games in a row, carrying the worst NBA road record at 1-10. The team is putting up all-time low numbers. They allowed a league-high 139 points to Portland. Without Michael Carter Williams, the team is 1-9. The rookie is not expected back for a while due to a skin infection in his knee. The Philadelphia 76ers road record might not be an issue as the Nets have dropped six games in a row at home. With two dismal records, this game could go either way.
