The Baltimore Ravens and the Detroit Lions both are looking to make the postseason this year and as the two teams face off on Monday night football in Week 15, each needs this game for their season to matter and in Week 15 it will be an intense battle at Ford Field and the matchup will be on ESPN at 8:30 pm and streaming online as running backs Reggie Bush and Ray Rice go head to head.
The Ravens are coming off of an exciting win against the Minnesota Vikings that saw plenty of scoring at the end, while the Lions would rather forget their sloppy loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on the road and with the Chicago Bears winning on Sunday, they desperately need this game to make the playoffs. The Ravens can win the AFC North after the Bengals lost on Sunday night, but they can fall back on the wild card in the conference and that is something the Lions do not have the luxury of, as the San Francisco 49ers and Carolina Panthers seem to have those spots sealed up. The two teams come in with strong rushing games and solid defenses and whoever wins those two battles up front likely will be the winner on Monday and the Lions are hoping to have Reggie Bush fully healthy for the matchup after he missed time and that could be crucial for Detroit in the matchup.

Joe Flacco has been playing very well over the past few weeks and getting back tight end Dennis Pitta has been a huge help while the team has dealt with injuries and now they head into this matchup before a massively crucial and exciting matchup with the Patriots next Sunday. The Pats lost to the Miami Dolphins this past weekend and that opens up the AFC big time and saved the broncos from possibly losing their home field advantage and the number one seed and as the season nears a close, the Ravens are taking shape like they did last season. The team won the Super Bowl after going on a nice run at the end of the year and they look like the team that no one wants to play come playoffs time, as the defense is looking much better and the offense has been more consistent over the past few weeks after not being able to run the ball earlier in the season.
The Ravens are looking deadly once again and while they nearly lost the game to the Vikings last week, the team pulled it out and they would love to get into position to win the AFC North and that would be a huge blow to the Bengals, who had a nice lead heading into the second half of the season. The end of the schedule is no picnic for the Ravens, as they play against the New England Patriots and the Bengals on the road to finish things, but if they win out and get the win against the Lions, they will be in position to take the division.
The Lions have a seemingly easy schedule to finish the season, playing three straight games in domes against the Ravens, Giants and then against the Minnesota Vikings on the road, but the Vikes have been playing hard and the G-Men may be playing for Ton Coughlin's job and that could make for some difficult games. The Lions need to win on Monday night to keep pace and if they lose they could end up out of the playoffs all together and this back stretch of losses to the Steelers, Buccaneers and Eagles could be their undoing.
