The fantasy football season is coming to a close and with owners looking to get the most out of their teams for the championship in Week 16, some players to watch dealing with injuries and coming back from injury problems includes names like Adrian Peterson, Aaron Rodgers, Wes Welker, Larry Fitzgerald, Victor Cruz and Cecil Shorts.
Shorts was just placed on injured reserve with a groin issue after being one of the most consistent receivers for the Jaguars, while Adrian Peterson is expecting to get back into action after missing this past week with a foot issue. The Vikings won anyway and the backup running back scored three touchdowns and now AP likely will be back in the saddle on Sunday. Aaron Rodgers could be on his way back as well and with the Packers in playoff contention all of a sudden, he could be a huge factor for the final stretch of games.
Cruz is dealing with knee and head injuries after the beat down the Giants took from the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday and he likely will be out of action, while Wes Welker and Larry Fitzgerald also are dealing with concussions. Keep an eye on the injury report for both of those players, as Welker missed out on the Thursday night game for the Broncos and Fitzgerald was hit this weekend.
Peterson is one of the leading rushers in the league and he is coming back after being injured against the Ravens a couple weeks ago and he was really heating up at that time, rushing for over 300 yards combined in the previous two games. The Vikings won without him and now they will get him back most likely for the game on Sunday. Fitzgerald passed the test he needed to get clearance and that means he likely will be playing for the Cardinals come Sunday when they have a huge game with the Seahawks. The team is on the cusp of the playoffs and needs to win to stay alive. Fitz has been having a solid season with 73 catches for 823 yards and 10 scores and he had six catches for 49 yards against the Titans before getting knocked around and he has five touchdowns in the past five games.
Rodgers could be back for the first time since getting knocked out of the Bears game a few weeks ago and there is a chance he could start against the Steelers in Week 16. Keep a close eye on the injury report and see if there's chance he will start for the Pack. Cruz is likely done for the season and he is just two yards away from a 1,000 yard year after making 73 catches and he likely will be shut down by the Giants.
