Manchester United has been off to a tough start in the Premier League this season and they sit at eighth in the table and on Wednesday they will be matching up against EPL opponent Stoke City in the Capital One Cup quarter-finals at Britannia Stadium and the game will start up at 7:45 pm before their next Barclays matchup with West Ham United at Old Trafford.
Manchester United has the chance to turn things around with a positive result on Wednesday and they are coming into the match after defeating Aston Villa 3-0 in their last Premier League game. The club has a chance to make up some points on the English Premier League table in the coming weeks with the holiday schedule on the way and after playing Stoke, Man U has West Ham United, Hull City and Norwich City before a big match against Tottenham on New Year's Day. Manchester United is sitting behind the Spurs in the standings and two back from Newcastle, while Everton, Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool are next in line behind Arsenal at the top of the league table.
The other quarterfinal matches came on Tuesday and saw Manchester City continue their dominant play and they won 3-1 over Leicester after two goals from Edin Dzeko and an early score from Aleksandar Kolarov just eight minutes into the match. Chelsea sits third on the English Premier League table and the team fell 2-1 to Sunderland to continue a stretch of up and down performances and the only goal was an own goal from Lee Cattermole at the 46th minute to give the Blues a 1-0 lead and they let that go in the 86th minute with a goal from Fabio Borini and then Ki Sung-Yueng ended it with a goal in extra time to get the victory. Chelsea had the early advantage despite making a number of lineup changes heading into the holiday PRemier League schedule and the other quarter-final match on Wednesday has Tottenham taking on West Ham United and the Spurs have a new manager at the helm.

Dzeko made his case for a more regular starting spot in City's star-studded line-up with goals either side of halftime after Aleksandar Kolarov had given the visitors an early lead.
Lloyd Dyer grabbed a consolation for Leicester.
"We had a very good first half, and then we had the possession and dominated the game until they scored. It is an important competition, it is important to win every game you play in and to get to the final at Wembley would be wonderful for the supporters," Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini said.
"I think the Capital One Cup is different to normal because we could have Tottenham and Manchester United also in the semi-final so that would be beautiful for the fans."
