The Portland Trail Blazers have been one of the best surprise teams in the NBA this season with a 22-5 record and on Saturday night the team will play against the New Orleans Pelicans at the Moda Center and is a western conference matchup and LaMarcus Aldridge and company will be looking to get back on track after losing against the Minnesota Timberwolves and the game starts up at 10 PM.
The Timberwolves got a nice win at home against the Trail Blazers and now the team is playing on Saturday for the first time since Wednesday and after playing the Pelicans, the team will be off until Thursday against the Los Angeles Clippers and that comes after LA plays against the Golden State Warriors on Christmas Day. The Trail Blazers have 22 wins this season and the Pelicans come in 11-13 and they are looking to stay in the playoff chase while dealing with injuries. The Blazers are ranked first in the NBA in scoring and that is one reason why they have been playing so well and along with the Spurs, Oklahoma City Thunder, Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers, the Blazers are the in the top group of teams heading into the final stretch of the 2013 calendar year and they are ranked in the top five in points per game as well as rebounding and assists per game and they are allowing just over 100 points per contest.

The Blazers have Aldridge leading the team in scoring and the Pelicans are coming into the game after losing to the Clippers on the road and after playing against Portland the team will travel to play the Sacramento Kings. The Pelicans are ranked 12th in point per game, rebounding and assists per game and the team is allowing over 102 points per game and that could make it tough to get a win against the Blazers. Anthony Davis has been injured and Ryan Anderson has been banged up and so far it hasn't helped much that the team traded for Jrue Holiday and Tyreke Evans and a win against the Blazers would be a nice way to get on track.
