Dec 23, 2013 02:36 PM EST

The English Premier League schedule finishes up the week on Monday with a huge match between Arsenal and Chelsea at Emirates Stadium and the EPL table could have the Gunners back on top with a positive result after Liverpool took over this weekend and the match will get started up at 8:00 pm local time and 3:00 pm ET and will stream live online from NBC Sports.

The match comes after Tottenham and Everton won on Sunday and on Saturday Liverpool was victorious yet again to take the top spot on the Premier League table heading into the holiday week before the Gunners play on Monday. The Gunners were at the top of the table coming into the weekend matches and now they trail by a point and they could use a positive result on Monday, as they have gone three matches without a victory now after also losing to Napoli in the Champions League group stage finale. The Gunners play against defending champions Bayern Munich in the UCL knockout round and the team also has a tough Premier League schedule coming up, including the Blues match on Monday and Chelsea also is looking for a good result after getting knocked from the Capital One Cup against Sunderland and also losing to Stoke City earlier in the month.

The EPL standings are getting very tight heading into the holiday schedule and the Boxing Day fixtures should be very exciting and everyone is in action before the next set of matches on January 1 and whoever is in first place on the table after all this could be in line to win the title. The leader at Christmas time isn't always guaranteed to win, with Arsenal and Liverpool being the last two teams to do it, as they failed to win after leading at the holiday two years in a row in 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 and now these same two teams are battling at the top of the standings.

Heading into the matchup, Aaron Ramsey has been very solid for Arsenal, leading the Gunners in scoring with eight goals, while Mesut Ozil is tops with seven assists. Eden Hazard has led the way for Chelsea with six goals, while he also is tops in assists with four this season. Chelsea comes into the matchup after winning against Crystal Palace last week and coming up they have the away match against Arsenal before playing two games in a row at Stamford Bridge against Swansea City and then against Liverpool and that could have big table implications as well. Jose Mourinho wants his team to be more aggressive and both the Blues and Arsenal would be happy getting at least a point out of this match on Monday.

Arsenal comes in after losing 6-3 to Manchester City last week and that came after the Champions League loss to Napoli and the draw with Everton before that. The team last won over Cardiff City and now they have a tough schedule coming up in the next few weeks starting with Chelsea and then the team plays against Newcastle, West Ham as well as Tottenham and Aston Villa. These two teams have already played this season in the Capital One Cup and while that was a nice victory by the Blues, Mourinho has said that the club will not rely on that and will be looking to get a victory on Monday.
