The San Francisco 49ers and the Green Bay Packers are playing the NFC wild card game on Sunday and the matchup will be streaming on the radio and on TV from FOX and the game comes after the San Diego Chargers and Cincinnati Bengals played and with the New Orleans Saints beating the Eagles, the winner of the game at Lambeau in the bitter cold will face off against the Carolina Panthers.
The 49ers come into the game with four more wins this season than the Packers, but they will have to travel back to Lambeau Field after the game last season was in the Bay Area. That game saw Colin Kaepernick break out for a record amount of rushing yards and this season the team will be trying to do the same, as they are ranked third in the league in rushing yards per game with over 130 and the Packers defense has given up some chunks this season. The Packers tie during the season helped them out on the back end and the team comes in after Rodgers returned to the starting lineup for the first time in seven games and he helped lead the team to victory in the NFC North championship game against the Chicago Bears, as he hit Randall Cobb with the game winning touchdown and that put the team into the playoffs.
The Packers have a top 10 ranked rushing and passing offense in yards per game and they are ranked in the bottom half of the league in yards per game in passing and rushing and they will need to play much better than they did last season against the Niners in the playoffs. Lacy is the likely rookie of the year winner and he has rushed for over 1,000 yards and he could be the x factor in the game on Sunday night.
The 49ers are a great defensive team and the battle could come down to the weather with below freezing temperatures and wind coming along with possible snow and after the Chargers defeated the Bengals, anything could happen in the NFC. The Panthers are waiting for the winner of this game, while the Seahawks will be playing against the New Orleans Saints once again.
