The Milwaukee Bucks are having a tough season after overhauling their roster and now the club looks like it will start blowing things up, as they are actively shopping and looking for a trade for guard Gary Neal after he got into a confrontation over the weekend with Larry Sanders, who just signed a long-term contract and isn't going anywhere.
Neal signed with the Bucks from the Spurs in the offseason and now a number of teams like the Houston Rockets, Indiana Pacers, New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls, Toronto Raptors, Miami Heat and Los Angeles Clippers could be interested in making a move. According to ESPN.com and Pro Basketball Talk, the Bucks are looking to trade Neal as soon as possible and with his contract up after next season and for only $3.2 million at that, he could be an attractive option for teams looking for depth and also an option for contending teams needing more role players.
Neal is the odd man out here since Sanders just signed a huge deal at four years and over $40 million and the dispute between the two came after a game over the weekend that saw Neal say something to Sanders like, I earn my money, you should try and do the same and that was before he left the locker room against the Suns in Phoenix and now the team will try to trade him. The Bucks have picked the perfect time to do it as well, since Neal is averaging 10.4 points as a career high while playing in 20 minutes a game and he has championship pedigree from his time with the Spurs.
The Bucks are terrible and have no chemistry and now moving Neal is the next step for the team as the trading deadline gets closer. Despite the fact that Sanders and the team downplayed the incident with Neal, clearly they want to trade him now and the 29 year old would be a solid addition to a contending team after his time with the Spurs and he has shot from three for over 40 percent as well. The Bucks are just 7-27 this season and are the worst team in the central division. Neal is signed to a two-year, $6.5 million deal with a team option for the third season.
