The Denver Broncos and the San Diego Chargers are playing in the AFC divisional playoffs on Sunday and the game starts up on CBS at 4:40 pm ET and has Peyton Manning and Philip Rivers facing off for the third time this season and the game is from Sports Authority Field at Mile High and the matchup is the sixth seed and the number one seed in the conference this postseason.
Rivers and Manning each were voted to the Pro Bowl and led their teams in the AFC West to the playoffs and now they will face off again after the Chargers won in this stadium back in Week 15 of the season. Manning passed for well over 5,000 passing yards this season and he set a new NFL record with 55 touchdowns and that came after he opened the year with seven touchdowns against the Baltimore Ravens and that was a bit of revenge for the Broncos after the team lost in the same round last season. The Broncos have played very well at home this season and now they will get the chance to face off against a familiar foe and Mike McCoy was previously running the offense for Denver before getting hired by the Chargers.
The winner of this game will face off against the New England Patriots and Tom Brady in the AFC championship game and that would be the second matchup this season for the Broncos with the Pats if they get past the Chargers. Brady and Manning have had numerous matchups in the past when Manning was still with the Colts and now there's a possible chance it could happen again and if Denver wins, the Patriots would have to travel to play Manning. If the Chargers can somehow upset the Broncos on Sunday, the Patriots would get the AFC championship game at home and that would be a welcome surprise for the team. The Pats are the number two seed in the conference and now they will get the chance to get to another Super Bowl.

The Seahawks won against the New Orleans Saints in the early game on Saturday and now they will host the NFC championship game against either the 49ers or the Panthers and they are the number one seed and are looking like the favorites in the conference to make it. The Seahawks have beaten both teams left in the postseason and the matchups favor the home team in both. The Broncos are looked at as the favorite in the AFC and the matchup against the Patriots is the one that everyone would love to see.
The Broncos were one of the top passing teams in the NFL and the Chargers were the same after ranking fourth in the league in passing yards per game and the team ranked 13th in rushing yards per game as well.
