Former NFL star Aaron Hernandez is in jail awaiting trial on murder charges and while some inmates at the Bristol County House of Correction in North Dartmouth are allowed to watch playoff games of the New England Patriots, the former star of the team is not and he did not get the chance to see his team in the playoffs on Saturday.

According to the Boston Herald, Hernandez is not permitted to watch the games where he is being housed in the jail, as Bristol Sheriff Thomas M. Hodgson said that he is not allowed to watch any TV. Other inmates are allowed to watch TV for an hour and that means some of them were able to watch the games.

Last season Hernandez had six catches for over 80 yards to get the team into the AFC championship game against the Baltimore Ravens, but this year, Hernandez was not allowed to watch his former teammates as they played against the Indianapolis Colts and now they are into the championship game against the Denver Broncos.

"We only allow two hours a day of entertainment television," Hodgson said about his no-nonsense tube policy. "The rest of it has to be self-help tapes, self-help documentaries."
