The Chicago Cubs have not won a World Series in over 100 years and now the team is working to try and change that and one way is by doing something the franchise has never done in introducing a new mascot, a young bear, or rather a cub named Clark who will represent the team at Wrigley Field.
According to ESPN.com, Clark is the first official mascot for the team in its history and comes as the franchise is opening up a project that will put $300 million in renovations of Wrigley Field. The hopes is to make the stadium more "family friendly" and Clark is the start of that and the report says that the cub will be greeting fans as they come into Wrigley Field and wears a Cubs jersey and a backwards cap as the team tries to win their first championship since back in 1908 and he is the first mascot in the 138-year history of the team.
ESPN writes that the Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees are the only teams left without an official mascot and now the Cubs will try and endear families to the stadium this season.

From ESPN.com:
"The Cubs are thrilled to welcome Clark as the team's official mascot," Cubs senior director of marketing Alison Miller said in a statement. "Clark is a young, friendly Cub who can't wait to interact with our other young Cubs fans. He'll be a welcoming presence for families at Wrigley Field and an excellent ambassador for the team in the community."
