New York Jets Draft Rumors: Johnny Manziel Dream First Round Pick As Mike Evans, Marqise Lee, Eric Ebron, Allen Robinson Top Options

The New York Jets played much better in 2013 than anyone expected and now the team heads into the future with Rex Ryan as head coach and Geno Smith likely at quarterback and for the second year pro to get better, the Jets need to add more firepower to their offense, which is why names like Johnny Manziel, as Mike Evans, Marqise Lee, Eric Ebron, Allen Robinson and Jace Amaro are being looked at as possible picks.

Manziel is a dream selection for the Jets and even though they took Smith last year, it wouldn't be insane to take a quarterback again, as the pay structure for rookies keeps things a bit more down to earth than in the past. That would be a bit crazy to do after taking Smith, but if somehow the team can get their hands on Manziel, they might not be able to resist. The last time the Jets traded up big was from pick 17 down to five to take Mark Sanchez and everyone knows how that one turned out.

The Jets are more likely to sit tight and pick an offensive player at their spot in the first round, as they spent two first round picks last season on defensive players in Sheldon Richardson and Dee Milliner and while Ryan loves his defense, the team needs to add some weapons. Last season it was glaring how short the Jets are at the skill positions and now they have a deep roster of options to pick from, as players like Mike Evans, Marqise Lee, Eric Ebron, Allen Robinson and Jace Amaro could all be available at their spot.

The Jets did not give Sanchez enough weapons over the past few years and it has showed and if they want Smith to be a success, they need to surround him with some talent. Evans and Lee are top options to add at WR, as Evans had another great season with Texas A&M and ended up with 69 catches for 1,394 yards and 12 touchdowns and that comes after he had 82 receptions for 1,105 yards and five touchdowns last season and he could be one of the first coupe receivers taken in the draft. Evans played well in the biggest games, making 18 receptions for 566 yards and five touchdowns against Alabama and Auburn and now he is going pro.

Lee is another prime option and while he had a down season, he made it as a Heisman finalist the previous year and names like Eric Ebron, Allen Robinson and Jace Amaro could be good fits as well. Ebron and Amaro could add a new element to the offense, as the team did not really replace Dustin Keller after he signed with the Dolphins.
