The Seattle Seahawks playoffs schedule picks up once again on Sunday for the NFC championship game and the matchup against the San Francisco 49ers starts up on FOX at 6:30 pm from CenturyLink Field and comes after the AFC game between the Denver Broncos and the New England Patriots.
The Seahawks come into the game ranked first in the NFC standings with the number one seed and they have home field advantage and are playing the Niners for the third time this season. Seattle hosted the 49ers at home in Week 2 of the season and dominated with a 29-3 win and then the Niners won the game in the Bay Area before the two teams play again on Sunday. The Broncos and the Patriots play at 3 pm on Sunday in the early game on CBS and the late matchup has the Seahawks and the Niners going starting up later at 6:30 pm. The Seahawks come into the game after winning over the Saints for the second time this season and they are being looked at as the favorites in the NFC to get to the Super Bowl in MetLife Stadium.
The Seahawks are coming into the game after ranking fourth in the NFL in rushing yards per game this season behind Marshawn Lynch and he had a fantastic game over the weekend, rushing for over 100 yards against the Saints. Lynch is going to be a focal point for the Seahawks on Sunday and he gives the team a great chance to win, as he is one of the best backs in football and his thundering runs really ignite the crowd in Seattle and if the 12th man is as loud as usual, it will be very difficult for the 49ers to win on Sunday.
After the early loss this season, which did not have Michael Crabtree in the lineup by the way, the Niners got some revenge with a last second win at home against the Hawks in the Bay Area. The teams split the two games this season and now the Seahawks have the chance to play the Niners at home, where they are 16-1 over the past two seasons under Russell Wilson and with the way the Seahawks play, they can get a win without Wilson having a crazy game. Colin Kaepernick and Wilson are two of the hottest young quarterbacks in the league and they will be playing for the right to go and represent the NFC in Super Bowl XLVIII in New Jersey at MetLife Stadium.
