Wednesday night’s Game 6 of the NBA Western Conference Finals was the time of Oklahoma City Thunder and the time of Kevin Durant.
Durant led the Thunder to beat San Antonio Spurs 107-99 at the game. This victory allowed Thunder to be the first team to reach the NBA Finals this season. Thunder is going to fight against the winner of Boston Celtics and Miami Heat for the Championship honor.
The Game 6 of the Western Conference was a shining moment for Durant, scoring 34 points and 14 rebounds. The league’s three-time scoring champion also showed a remarkable defense, blocking Ginobili of Spurs to be scoreless for more than three minutes.
“I just wanted to go out there and sacrifice my body for my team. I knew that would give us a little spark," said Durant.
“I never want to take those moments for granted. I know it's just one step closer to our dreams, but it felt good.”
Contrast to Durant, another NBA super star LeBron James is facing a difficult situation now. Currently behind Boston Celtics 3-2, James and Miami Heat are on the brink of finishing this season early. If Heat loses to Celtics in any of the next two games, James would have to wait for his dream of wearing the NBA Championship ring.
The Game 6 will begin tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET, and if Heat wins this game at Boston’s home, Game 7 will be held on Saturday night.
