The LeBron James free agency rumors have been going on since the day he signed his contract with the Miami Heat and with the summer of 2014 coming up in just a few months, many have wondered if James will opt out to sign with the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers, Clippers or Cleveland Cavaliers as a free agent and now he has alluded to the future in an Instagram message to teammate Dwyane Wade.
According to ESPN.com, James sent a message and put a post on Instagram for Wade on his birthday and for his 32nd birthday James wrote that he was a reason why he came to Miami to play in the first place and that the two are like brothers no matter what happens in the future. The two have won multiple championships together and after this season nothing is certain, although many expect Miami to retain both James and Wade. James is expected to get a large new contract and the big question about Wade is how many years his knees have left after a rough NBA career with injuries starting to become more common.
There is a chance that the Big Three splits up next season and while LeBron is expected to remain with the Heat, rumors have said that he could go to another team to try and win, or even back to Cleveland to play with the Cavaliers. All three have opt outs for the end of this season and with Wade turning 32 years old, he may be coming to the end soon and the team has big financial decisions to make as well. The team has won the east three straight seasons and has won the last two NBA championships and this season they are the favorites with the Indiana Pacers in the eastern conference.
James has not said what he will do publicly, but everyone thinks that it's possible that he could leave Miami after previously doing that in Miami. The Heat are looking to win three straight championships and they would be the fourth team to do that and James has continued to establish himself as the best player in the NBA while playing in Miami. James complimented Wade and said that the two are like brothers and that he came to Miami to play with him and to win championships.
"I came to Miami for 2 reasons. To play with U and to win championships and I can't thank you u enough for the sacrifice you've made since I arrived homie!" James wrote in part of the birthday message to Wade. "No matter what happens in the future we stuck together like brothers for life."
