Richard Sherman Interview: Michael Crabtree Downplays Erin Andrews Post-Game Rant in NFC Championship, Seahawks CB Begins Peyton Manning Prep

It was the rant heard around the world following the 2014 NFC championship game. After tipping a pass from Colin Kaepernick intended for Michael Crabtree in the endzone that could have given the San Francisco 49ers the win, Richard Sherman knew he was the hero of the game. Constantly telling people he is the best, on Sunday he did his best to prove it and let Erin Andrews know just how he felt.

Sherman loves to chirp about how he is the best cornerback in the league, capable of shutting down any wide receiver. He certainly did that to Crabtree in the endzone and sounded off about his play. After Andrews asked Sherman to run through that final play to her, the cornerback did more than that.

"Well, I'm the best corner in the game!" Sherman said, via FOX Sports.  "When you try me with a sorry receiver like Crabtree that's the result you're gonna get!  Don't you ever talk about me! Crabtree!  Don't you open your mouth about the best!  Or I'm gonna shut it for you real quick!"

Sherman essentially put on his best Bart Scott impression to Andrews who looked slightly scared after the comments. Sherman went on to refer to Crabtree as "mediocre" several times to reporters following the game. Apparently, the cornerback was offended by a reported offseason personal remark that Crabtree made about Sherman. He also told media last week that he did not believe the Seahawks cornerback was the best in the league. After hearing what Sherman said about him, Crabtree did not blink or go back on his statements.

"He's a TV guy. I'm not a TV guy. I play ball. He makes one play, he talks...We're on the field and he ain't going nothing, Crabtree said, via the San Mercury News. "That's one play he made...That's probably the only he made the whole game"

Plenty of Sherman's Seattle teammates agreed that the cornerback was the best in the league. Wide receiver Golden Tate simply laughed and wondered why quarterbacks even attempt to throw it his direction. Safety Kam Chancellow said no one wants to face Sherman like that.

"If our team knew the game was going to come down to a play like that," Sherman said, "they'd be pretty confident going into it. ... You throw that, it's a mistake."

Sherman will have one more chance to prove he is the best this season. The cornerback said he was not going to get lost trying to get inside Peyton Manning's head before the Super Bowl and just prepare like he always does.
