Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is having groin surgery this offseason after consulting with doctors and while it's the third straight season that he has had surgery, reports say that he will be ready for the 2014 season and the procedure likely will spark more trade rumors for the back.
According to Pro Football Talk, Peterson is having surgery on his groin after dealing with the injury all season and as he gets older and the Vikings rebuild, the question of a possible trade to a contender will come up again. The surgery will be done on Thursday by Dr. William Meyers and he is the man that gave Peterson his sports hernia surgery as well. This is the third straight season Peterson will have surgery and while it did not mess him up last season when he came back and rushed for 2,000 yards, or this season with over 1,200, having surgery in three straight years is never a good sign.
All reports so far have him being ready for training camp and the 2014 season. The Vikings come into the offseason after going 5-10-1 and now they have a ton of questions with Mike Zimmer coming in as head coach.
