There are three unbeaten teams left in college basketball and it is a true fight to see who can remain perfect. Syracuse has done all they can since the season began, but the second-ranked Orange are getting ready for a real road test as the Miami Hurricanes prepare to put the team on upset alert.
Syracuse and Miami had a real battle three weeks ago in their first matchup. In one of the closest games this season, Syracuse barely edged the Hurricanes 49-44 while shooting just 46.2 percent over all. Miami also struggled on offense, managing just 40 field goal attempts. No one hit double figures in the box score, something that likely will not happen the second time around.
Syracuse has been getting everyone's best offensive performance lately. Pittsburgh put up 54 points in the close loss. Tyler Ennis has been left with cleanup duty for a number of games. The freshman put up 16 points against the Panthers while leading the team on a late-game run to get the win. He is averaging 11.9 points per game, but has reached double-figures in all five conference games.
Miami has been getting by on defense, holding opponents to just 36.4 percent shooting. Duke shot 42.9 percent against the Hurricanes as Miami fell to their conference rival. While they are defensively very strong, the team's offense has been another story. Miami averaging just 35.4 percent overall, ranking them 14th in the conference. That could cause some trouble for Miami against Syracuse.
The Orange are preparing to play without DaJuan Coleman for the remainder of the season after he was forced to undergo surgery on his left knee. The center was averaging 4.3 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.
