The San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat played an amazing NBA championship last season and they matchup on Sunday on ABC on TV and later streaming live online from AmericanAirlines Arena at 1 pm and comes after the Spurs nearly won the series in six games against LeBron James, but Ray Allen had something to say about that and now the two teams play a Sunday matchup that is very anticipated on the schedule.
The team comes into the game after a win against the Atlanta Hawks and then they head to Houston for a Texas matchup with the Rockets at the Toyota Center and that comes after the game against the Heat. The Spurs are dealing with a couple injuries right now, but they still remain one of the best teams in the league and their conference, first in their division with a 33-10 record. Miami comes into the game 31-12 on the season and they are first in their division as well and while some have criticized the team for coasting, James and his teammates still want another title and they likely will have to battle the Indiana Pacers in the east to do it.
The Heat come into the game after a win over the Lakers on Thursday and they next will continue their run against the best of the west with a game at home against the Oklahoma City Thunder and those look like the two best teams in the west right now. The Heat are ranked in the top 10 in scoring and defense by points and they are averaging over 100 points per contest and they are ranked eighth in defense with 98 points allowed per game. The team is sixth in assists per game and 30th in rebounds and they are coming off a nice game for James, who had 13 rebounds and six assists to lead the Heat, while Chris Bosh had a nice outburst of 31 points.
Dwyane Wade has been dealing with injuries this season and Bosh has stepped up in his absence and they are up against one of the toughest teams in the Spurs, as San Antonio is ranked fourth in scoring with 96 points allowed per game. The team is ranked second in assists and sixth in scoring and the Spurs are deep and this could be one of the best matchups on the schedule and also could be a preview of the finals again if both teams can make runs like they did last year.
