NY Giants Rumors: Hakeem Nicks Free Agency and 2014 Mock Draft Update For Eli Manning and Ben McAdoo Offense

The NY Giants have a number of questions to deal with this offseason, including whether or not Hakeem Nicks will leave in free agency and that will affect what the team does in the draft and on offense for Eli Manning and new offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo, meaning general manager Jerry Reese has his work cut out for him.

Manning had a terrible season in 2013 with 27 interceptions and the Giants offense overall was not up to par with past seasons and that led to a split with offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride, longtime tight ends coach Mike Pope and running backs coach Jerald Ingram and now the team will have a new offense under McAdoo. Manning will need to bounce back for the Giants to get back to the playoffs and after signing Victor Cruz to an extension last season, Reese has to maneuver around possibly signing Hakeem Nicks and also adding a new draft class.

The team had some major issues on the offensive line and while it looks like Justin Pugh was a smart pick in the first round, Will Beatty did not play as well as expected and David Baas was injured and now David Diehl has retired. The team could go for another high round pick of an offensive lineman, although Mel Kiper has the team picking CJ Mosley and the team also could look at tight end, with the position being deep with names like Jace Amaro and Eric Ebron. Some predictions have the team going at tight end or wide receiver to immediately add something to the mix for McAdoo and Manning, including names like Mike Evans, Marqise Lee and Allen Robinson as names that could be available.

The Giants went 7-9 last season and were basically terrible on offense and now they have the chance to recharge things and adding some offense in free agency and the draft could help Manning get back on track. The defense improved down the stretch last season and Tom Coughlin sounds motivated for a bounce back season in 2014.
