The Seattle Seahawks are coming into the Super Bowl as the better defensive team, but the club has a number of explosive weapons and one of them in Percy Harvin is expected to start the game on Sunday for Russell Wilson and Pete Carroll after missing out against the San Francisco 49ers and that will be a huge boost for the club at MetLife Stadium.
Harvin is coming back from hip surgery from last year that forced him to miss nearly the entire season for the Seahawks and after coming back, he reinjured himself and also got banged up against the Saints in the first playoff game for Seattle. According to ESPN.com, head coach Pete Carroll said that Harvin was 100 percent and that he will participate in practice and at the Super Bowl and that he should not be limited in the game plan.
Harvin is an explosive receiver and he showed that with his kick return abilities in his first game back and he will add an explosive weapon for Russell Wilson alongside Golden Tate and Doug Baldwin for the game on February 2. Marshawn Lynch is expected to be fine for the game and he has been a driving force for the team over the past two seasons and Harvin comes into the Super Bowl after making one catch for 17 yards in the regular season.
The Seahawks ranked near the bottom of the league in passing and having Harvin back will greatly help the team in the game and Denver corner Champ Bailey said that Harvin is a player to watch in the game. Bailey called him "dangerous" and if he gets the ball in open space, he could be deadly and while he has not played a full game for a year, he should be able to get all his reps for the Super Bowl.
"Just getting back from the game both guys got banged a little bit," Carroll told KJR (via ProFootballTalk). "They'll both be fine, probable to play and all that. But they're more than that, they're going to go. They'll be fine."
