The Aaron Hernandez murder case has been out of the headlines lately with the Super Bowl going on, but now the case has popped back into the news, as Hernandez' cousin Tanya Singleton was allowed out of jail on bail after five months due to issues stemming from her connection to the case and to Hernandez.

Singleton was accused of helping one of the accomplices in the case, Ernest Wallace, flee the state to Florida after Odin Lloyd was shot to death and she had previously pleaded not guilty to criminal contempt and conspiracy to commit accessory after the fact and she did not testify against her cousin. According to ESPN.com, Singleton was allowed out of jail on bail after being held since August and the judge put the bail at $15,000 and she also has some conditions on the bail, including the fact that she has to be monitored by electronics and that she must report to a probation officer.

Singleton was previously offered immunity to testify about the case to the grand jury, but she refused to do so and that led her to be held in contempt. According to a long article by Rolling Stone, Hernandez and Singleton were very close during his younger years as he grew up and that is one reason why she refused to testify and now she is out and the case involving Hernandez is moving towards a trial and while no date is set, Hernandez has his next court date coming up soon in February.

Singleton was accused of helping Wallace leave the state after the murder of Lloyd, which occurred in June and Hernandez was arrested for the crime soon after and charged with first degree murder. The report also says that she had spoken about helping the other accomplice in the case, Carlos Ortiz, escape to Puerto Rico and she also disposed of a cell phone that belonged to Wallace but was in her name and she also was connected to both of those men through her uncle and her home in Bristol.
