Luol Deng will be a free agent in 2014 and with the way the Cleveland Cavaliers are playing this season, there is a good chance he will leave there over the summer and while the Chicago Bulls are an option despite trading him, teams like the Dallas Mavericks, LA Clippers, New York Knicks, Houston Rockets and Miami Heat could be options to sign him.
Deng was traded in a money saving move for the Bulls and so that the team could get some benefit if he left in free agency and now it appears he definitely will be leaving the Cavaliers for someone. According to Pro Basketball Talk, Deng is "shocked" at the situation in Cleveland and how bad the team is and right now they have just 16 wins and are fading back in the east after many predicted that they would compete for a playoff spot this season. Deng has been playing well, but he has been frustrated with the issues going on with the Cavaliers says Mitch Lawrence from the Daily News and now he could be poised to leave for another team in free agency.
The Cavaliers were hoping Deng could be a new piece next to Kyrie Irving, but instead things have been a disaster and now that Andrew Bynum has been traded, the team has not been playing together and Deng said that there are things going on that would never have been "tolerated" in Chicago. Dang is an option for the LA Clippers, Lakers, Knicks, Mavericks and Houston Rockets in the offseason and he also could be in play for his old team in the Chicago Bulls.
Deng did not want to leave Chicago and understood that is was a business move and now he is set to be one of the top free agents on the market in 2014. The Bulls will try to make a run at him and so will the Knicks and if the Cavaliers don't pull out of things soon they could end up selling more at the deadline. Dion Waiters and other players have had issues and with Deng one of the oldest players on the team and one of the lone veterans, this season looks like it will end in disaster, Chris Grant is poised to get fired after the Anthony Bennett picked has looked awful and now it will be up to Deng to decide what to do in his future.
From the report: "Deng was brought in to help clean it up when he arrived in a deal for Andrew Bynum on Jan. 7. But since then, he's seen players get thrown out of practice, take off their uniform tops at halftime and threaten not to play, mouth off to Brown and generally act like spoiled brats."
