The Cleveland Cavaliers are taking on the Dallas Mavericks and the game will be live from American Airlines Arena at 8:30 pm ET and comes as the Cavs are a complete mess and the Mavs come in with a 27-21 record after winning over the Sacramento Kings and they next will play on the road against Memphis.
The Mavericks are playing better than they did last season and they are third in the southwest division and they come in scoring over 104 points per game to rank seventh in the NBA. The Mavericks have been allowing 102 points per game on defense and they are seventh in assists per game and now Dirk Nowitzki comes in after scoring 34 points against the Kings and they have the chance to keep things going against a Cavaliers team that has not done anything right this season.
Kyrie Irving has continued to develop into a fine point guard, but this season has been his most tumultuous and he is the focal point and now the team may blow things up with Dion Waiters and others after making the Andrew Bynum for Luol Deng deal with the Chicago Bulls. The Cavaliers nwo could end up selling more players after being terrible since the move and Deng has been surprised and upset about how much of a mess the team has been this season as well. Deng likely will be moving on in free agency and teams like the Chicago Bulls, Lakers, New York Knicks and Hawks all could be options for him now that the Cavaliers are sinking.
The team is now fourth in the central division with just 16 wins and Deng led the team in scoring against the Rockets in their last game and Tristan Thompson led with seven rebounds, while Irving had seven assists and now they play against the Mavericks on the road before playing the Los Angeles Lakers at home and both of the teams have been very disappointing this season, with LA dealing with a ton of injuries and the Cavs just being a mess. The team is ranked 25th in the league in points per game with 95 per contest and the team is 21st in defense with 101 points allowed and the team is 11th in rebounds per game and one of the bottom teams in assists per game and now they are trying to turn things around and they have to start now for any chance at making the playoffs in the eastern conference.
